Parenting Mediation

The mediation process aims to reduce conflict and promote positive relationships.
This process can be accessed in-person, online, or over the telephone depending on the situation. Mediation can provide a less stressful and cost-effective alternative to the court process. This confidential and expert-led process involves trained mediators who help with various aspects of family conflict, such as care arrangements, parenting plans, property settlements, financial matters, communication, and special occasions. The mediator's role is to facilitate productive decision-making on key issues, so both parties have a say, and agreements are negotiated and reached. Mediation can also accommodate parents who are unable to communicate directly by allowing for in-person sessions in separate rooms with the mediator acting as an intermediary. In cases where a resolution is not reached, mediators can assist in accessing advisory services, child-focused information seminars, child consultation, and legal referrals.
Property Mediation

RF Family Services has a four steps process for mediating property disputes that follows the law and is available to any couple going through a separation, even if they have children. Prior to commencing counselling, we conduct an assessment to determine whether counselling is appropriate for the client and their circumstances. Our emphasis is on prioritising safety and well-being, and we provide referrals to other appropriate services as needed.
